[L-USA] New jars are here!

From: Daniel Servatius (elf@pclink.com) | Date: 1999-03-12 15:03:17 UTC-06:00
I got 80 of these new jars in the mail today. I put one of them
in the freezer for several hours and then I beat the snot out of
it with a 22 oz. framing hammer. The good news is that the jar
itself could not be broken even at freezing temps! But the lid
did brake. It seems to made of a slightly brittle material. Oh
well, I guess you don't get everything in a .50 cent jar.

But, in all other regards it is one heck of a deal. If you want
to try one of these send me your snail mail addy and I will send
you one or two to try.

Ps. I also have some sample "Rite in the Rain" waterproof log
books if anyone wants to try those. These can be ordered to any
size so they can be ordered to fit in the jar or another one like
it. They are a little over a dollar each, but may be more than
that depending on how many are ordered. As with all special
orders the first batch always costs more. It may be possible
to come up with a cheap little kit that can withstand anything
nature has to dole out.

Hey Daniel,
May I please get a sample jar?

Luckily we don't have to worry too much about freezing weather here in California. But, do you think it's earthquake proof?!?

Anyone have a good source for stamp pads?

Thanks,
Linda

Well, if its cold and a big rock falls right on the lid
you might be out of luck, but other than that I think it
will survive.

If you work in an office you might just want to ask if
you can take one. My boss said it was OK. But then I
found one at home anyway so I didn't need one from work.
Nevertheless, its nice to know if you need a small item
that its usually OK to ask.

Dan'l,

Would it be too much to ask for a sample of these too? If not, do you still have my snail mail?

Thanks again.

No bother at all. Do you mind resending your snail mail addy?
Then I don't have to search my messages for it. One day
I'm going to make an address list (when I find the time).

I'm really a gentle soul. I only beat inanimate objects
that are worth .50 cents or less! I was Navy, not Marine.
Marines are scary, not to be reckoned with. They never
liked us reminding them that they worked for the Navy.
They viewed it as a terrible insult to be part of us
because they saw us as too civil an organization to
contain ones so terrible, vengeful and utterly harmful
as themselves.

Dan'l

Ps. BTW, I sent out 9 of those .50 cent jars for you to try.
I'm trying to get other containers too and hopefully some of
you will be willing to try those.
